Two of the season's winningest players face off when No. 2 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece meets No. 5 Andrey Rublev of Russia in Sunday's final of the Hamburg European Open in Germany.

Tsitsipas improved to 22-8 in 2020 by holding off Chile's Cristian Garin 7-5, 3-6, 6-4 on Saturday, while Rublev ran his record to 24-6 with a 6-4, 6-2 win against Norway's Casper Ruud in the other semifinal.

Only world No. 1 Novak Djokovic of Serbia (31-1) has more wins on the ATP Tour this year.

Tsitsipas hammered 12 aces and converted three of four break chances to win in two hours and 15 minutes. He is chasing his second career title on clay, following his win at the 2019 Millennium Estoril Open in Portugal.

Tsitsipas has split his two previous meetings with Rublev, who is making his second consecutive appearance in the Hamburg final. Rublev converted five of eight break points against Ruud and improved to 15-4 on clay in 2020.
