FRANKFURT, Oct. 19 (Xinhua) -- German stocks closed down on Monday, with the benchmark DAX index down 54.33 points, or 0.42 percent, to close at 12,854.66 points.
European multinational online food-delivery service Delivery Hero lost 3.09 percent, the top loser among the blue chips, followed by European health care company Fresenius SE and multinational software corporation SAP which lost 2.38 percent and 1.39 percent respectively.
Deutsche Bank gained 1.72 percent, becoming the top gainer. Automotive supplier Continental and reinsurance company Munich Re advanced 1.33 percent and 1.05 percent respectively.
SAP was the most traded share with a turnover of 186.6 million euros (219.9 million U.S. dollars).
China's Haier, a leading global household appliances manufacturer listed in Frankfurt in 2018, lost 2.95 percent to close at 0.805 euros per share on Monday.
