FRANKFURT, June 16 (Xinhua) -- German stocks edged down on Wednesday, with the benchmark DAX index down 18.95 points, or 0.12 percent, to close at 15,710.57 points.
Deutsche Bank lost 2.31 percent, the top loser among the blue chips, followed by automotive manufacturer BMW and pharmaceutical company Merck which lost 1.51 percent and 1.50 percent respectively.
Energy division of Siemens Group Siemens Energy gained 2.30 percent, becoming the top gainer. Reinsurance company Munich Re and aircraft engine manufacturer MTU Aero advanced 2.14 percent and 1.94 percent respectively.
Multinational software corporation SAP was the most traded share with a turnover of 252.57 million euros (306.22 million U.S. dollars).
China's Haier, a leading global household appliances manufacturer listed in Frankfurt in 2018, rose 0.34 percent to close at 1.763 euros per share on Wednesday.
