VILNIUS, May 30 (Xinhua) -- The presidents of Germany and Lithuania on Tuesday held talks on bilateral cooperation on defense, and on preparations for the upcoming NATO summit in Vilnius in July.

During his meeting with visiting German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda said that Germany's long-term commitment to Lithuanian security is significant for the entire eastern flank of NATO.

Lithuania is actively investing in the development of military infrastructure, Nauseda said, to allow it to receive the German brigade on its territory.

The two presidents also discussed bilateral cooperation on political, economic and cultural relations.
