5.3-magnitude quake hits South Shetland Islands -- GFZ

BEIJING, April 10 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.3 jolted South Shetland Islands at 2159 GMT on Thursday, the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 10 km, was initially determined to be at 61.06 degrees south latitude and 56.58 degrees west longitude.
