(260529) -- BERLIN, May 29, 2026 (Xinhua) -- People have fun at a strawberry-themed tourism village in Wustermark, Germany, May 28, 2026. Every late spring and early summer, temporary stalls selling strawberries and white asparagus appear across Berlin, becoming one of the city's most recognizable seasonal sights.

Among the many vendors, white asparagus from Beelitz, known as Germany's "asparagus town," is especially common, while strawberry sales are largely dominated by the century-old agricultural company Karls.

Beyond selling agricultural products, Beelitz and Karls have in recent years expanded into farm experiences and rural tourism centered on strawberries and asparagus. This model has not only increased the visibility of local produce, but also turned "asparagus picking and strawberries dining" into a regular family outing tradition for many residents in Berlin and surrounding areas during May and June.
